20 Baby Names To Inspire The Spirit of Christmas

This year the holidays are feeling a little different for all of us. We are definitely making the most of it in our house by decorating gingerbread men, listening to some Christmas classics, and cuddling up with the family to watch The Grinch. These are some of the things that we have done to keep the Christmas spirit alive despite what’s been going on out there in the world.

We have also just celebrated Ares’ 2nd birthday on December 4th! His birthday reminds me of how special he is as his birthday kicks off our family’s holiday season. Whether you’re looking for a first name or middle, I’ve come up with 20 holiday-themed baby names that will inspire the spirit of Christmas for your new little bundle of joy!

Tips for choosing a name

Below I have assembled a list of some things to consider to help guide you when trying to narrow down that perfect name for your little one.

  • Are there any negative associations with this name?
  • What will the Initials be?
  • How will the name be perceived when your child grows up?
  • Does it sound too far outside the box?
  • Does it sound too common?
  • Do you want the name to have a nickname?
  • Is there someone in your circle that already has the name?
  • Do you even care for the meaning behind the name?

You will have many opinions thrown your way about the names you have selected, and this may cause you to second guess yourself. Sometimes it can be good to have somebody around to discuss your choices, but ultimately it should come down to your own decision. If you are someone that is easily influenced by others’ opinions, the best advice I can give is to keep it a secret. No one needs to know until your little one arrives.
